Use of solar energy directly for household needs (without converting into electricity) Student: Ophir Arad

Any source of energy, including solar energy, is typically used for electricity production as an intermediate carrier of energy. Such an approach significantly limits our capability to use different sources of energy. A solar boiler is built to collect solar energy and heat water. This is an excellent example of the direct usage of solar energy for existing needs without electricity as an intermediate carrier.

Very good analysis and solutions. Your idea to transfer a solar light through a glass fiber for lighting within houses is excellent. Many thanks.

Excited to share our latest project at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev! 🚀 We tackled the pressing issue of solar panel waste and explored innovative recycling solutions to make solar energy truly sustainable. Key insights: Solar panel waste could hit 78 million metric tons by 2050. Only 10% of panels are currently recycled in the EU. Our project highlights the need for efficient recycling technologies, better regulations, and economic incentives to drive sustainable practices. Let’s work together for a greener future! 🌱
